When Kieran adopted a 2 year old Kelpie from death row, he gave her a new chance at life. In curing her illness, Yoghurt Plus has given Kellie a new quality of life.

Kellie was in the pound, unclaimed, for about a week before Kieran happened along on the Saturday right before she was scheduled to be put to sleep the following week, and brought her home.

Although physically in good condition, the pound environment had overwhelmed this sweet dog, and it took her a little while to come out of her shell – she didn’t bark once for the first 2 months.

Soon after Kellie arrived at her new home she suffered her first bout of Colitis, experiencing bloating, loss of appetite, and diarrhea as well as struggling to pass stools.

She was treated by the Vet with a course of antibiotics and fed boiled chicken and rice for a week, and after she bounced back, the whole family was relieved. Then just a few weeks later, the Colitis came back.

Kieran was told that the cause was most likely a food related intolerance, and that unfortunately it would be a case of trial and error.

Over the next 6 months it became a vicious cycle of treatments with drugs resulting in short term recovery, Kieran tried all sorts of food combinations including home cooked mince, rice & veges, raw rump steak, Purina One and whole raw chicken pieces, but nothing seemed to make any difference.

It wasn’t just the physical illness, throughout the ordeal Kellie developed behavioural problems which included having accidents overnight, visibly shaking when she went to bed because she knew she might need to go to the toilet overnight, and chewing things in the morning before her owners woke up.

One night while shopping in Woolworths, Kieran noticed Yoghurt Plus on the shelf and thought “What the heck, I’ve tried everything else”.

It was amazing – her Colitis stopped almost immediately.

Since feeding Kellie Yoghurt Plus she has been healthy and happy, and hasn’t had any problems in 12 months.

Says Kieran, “I just wish I found Yoghurt Plus earlier”.
