Pet Health

The easiest way to ensure that your pets are always looked after is to treat them just like yourself or your children, as they are another member of the family.

When you bring your new family member into the home, speak to a vet about the best way to care for them. Your vet will discuss vaccinations required, possible diseases and parasites to look out for like ringworm and ticks and how to manage and avoid them.
Vaccinations are vital and can so easily avoid potential vet bills in the future, by giving your pet the protection and immunity they need. If you ever notice your pet not eating, over sleeping or generally not being themselves, we recommend always visiting your local vet to make sure there is nothing wrong.

The climate in Australia, also leads to potential hydration issues with your pet. Please ensure that they always have access to shade at home and have adequate fresh drinking water. Always walk your pet in the cool of the evening or the morning and never leave them in your car. If your pet starts panting excessively or irregularly, has  dilated or enlarged pupils or is salivating excessively, it could be a sign of heat stroke. Again it is recommended that you seek the advice of your vet.

The key to your pets health, just like ours, is a balanced and complete diet with exercise and regular check ups by your vet. This will ensure they do not become obese or unhealthy, their vaccinations are up to date and any potential problems can be acted on early. Prevention is always better than the cure. Remember your pet can’t speak. It needs your love, affection and focus. Their happiness is in your hands.
